Scott and Caitlyn Engagement Pics

City: Duluth, MN Venue: ,

Scott proposed to Caitlyn on their fourth anniversary; apparently, he was not very sneaky. Usually, Caitlyn is the planner, but Scott had the night covered. It was the first of many suspicious clues. The evening started at the restaurant where they had their first date. After dinner, Scott suggested a Ferris wheel ride at Betty Dangers in Northeast Minneapolis- he doesn’t like Ferris wheels or walking around to “view the lights.” Hmm, something was up, and she knew what it was. While Caitlyn was taking pictures, Scott got down on one knee. She turned around, and he didn’t even have a chance to spit out the words. The answer was a resounding, YES.

Summertime overlooking Lake Superior.

Does it get any better than Duluth?

Kota and Tina’s Surprise Proposal

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

It may not have been a complete surprise, but Kota still had to ask, and Tina still had to say YES. Kota spent the last nine months overseas and would have asked much sooner, but kept getting extended. Finally home, he brought her to the place where their relationship first started and got down on one knee to ask her to be his forever.

SHE SAID YES!

It may not have been a complete surprise, but he still had to ask.

There’s no place like summertime in Canal Park.

Tina’s father was in on the surprise and crafted a wooden ring box.

Has and Janna Backyard Tent Wedding

City: Grand Rapids, MN Venue:

Has and Janna married in her childhood backyard overlooking Pokegama Lake in Grand Rapids. These avid outdoors people also race canoes,so a poem entitled The Master Speed by Robert Frost was read during the ceremony. I cannot think of a better theme for all the adventures and misadventures that await.

No speed of wind or water rushing by
But you have speed far greater. You can climb
Back up a stream of radiance to the sky,
And back through history up the stream of time.
And you were given this swiftness, not for haste
Nor chiefly that you may go where you will,
But in the rush of everything to waste,
That you may have the power of standing still-
Off any still or moving thing you say.
Two such as you with such a master speed
Cannot be parted nor be swept away
From one another once you are agreed
That life is only life forevermore
Together wing to wing and oar to oar.

-Robert Frost

Has and Janna had the most unique and over-engineered canoe arch.

What’s better than a guest book? A guess paddle!

The ladies prepared many pots of rice before the ceremony.

Derek and Emily’s Wedding Portraits

City: Duluth, MN Venue: ,

Every first look is unique, but Derek and Emily hadn’t seen each other in months, so their first look was extra special. Emily was grinning from ear to ear as her handsome groom approached. When she turned around, it was clear she belonged in Derek’s arms from now until forever after. Thank you for including me in your day and letting me play with the swords. I now know to keep my greasy fingers off the blade. 🙂

That dress was clearly made just for Emily, gorgeous.

There is no place quite like Duluth.

A man in uniform with a sword is hard to resist.

Smiles all around.

Emily wore her grandma’s pearl earrings.

If I were a betting man, my money would be on Emily.

Jon and Miranda Wedding at Enger Tower

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Jon and Miranda met at a music festival after Jon felt the urge to get up and move. At the time he didn’t know why but instinctually made a B-line straight to Miranda. He boldly asked if she needed help with her tent, and the more they got to talking, the more they found in common. Four years later they married at Enger Tower overlooking all of Duluth. They skipped the traditional wedding party, flowers, cake, and DJ; all they needed was family, friends, and love.
