When Kyla first met Nick, he was so kind and thoughtful; she thought that his girlfriend was such a lucky lady! Kyla was shocked to hear that Nick didn’t have a girlfriend but later realized this was probably due to his absurd love of hunting and fishing.

When Nick first met Kyla, he was intrigued because she was beautiful, funny, and, most importantly, ruthless on the hockey rink. He knew she was the one because she was the perfect blend of confident, independent, humorous, and caring. Plus, she has top-notch skills in the kitchen.

They were always meant for each other, and that feeling grows stronger with every day spent together.

For Jon and Kelli’s engagement session, we headed to Park Point with their rescue pup Sandy to enjoy the sandy beach and sunny day. The couple is planning on getting married this summer at Glensheen Historic Estate, so the day was a wonderful celebration of their love and pledge to each other. Congratulations Jon and Kelli!

Jessie and Natalie’s Park Point Engagement

After two failed attempts at wooing Natalie, Jessie decided to test the legitimacy of the familiar saying, “The third time’s a charm.” Lucky for him, they had a mutual friend who gave Natalie the extra push needed to give him a shot, making attempt number three successful and proving that a little determination comes in handy when chasing the girl you like.

Both Natalie and Jessie live in the cities, and they decided on a weekend trip to the North Shore to explore the region where Natalie grew up for their engagement session. This joyful couple was a pleasure to shoot, and a trip to the beach was the perfect way to make the already beautiful day even more fun. Congratulations Natalie and Jessie!

Kelsey and Claudia’s Duluth Engagement

November 3, 2017City: Duluth, MN Venue: Lester Park, Park Point

Fall engagement session at the beach in Duluth, MN.

Kelsey and Claudia met through mutual friends that they both knew from school and soccer. In January, they will have officially been together for seven years! They proposed to each other on a trip to the beach and the Portland Malt Shoppe. First, Claudia popped the question to Kelsey beside the shores of Lake Superior, and then they headed over to the malt shoppe where Kelsey had a special spoon prepared for Claudia to use. When the malt was gone and spoon licked clean, the phrase “Will you marry me?” appeared engraved on the metal of the spoon. And the rest is history.

Spencer and Amy’s High-Flying Engagement

August 11, 2017City: Duluth, MN Venue: Park Point

There’s nothing better than a spontaneous adventure with a bit of high-flying fun. Spencer and Amy drove up from the cities for engagement photos on Park Point. They brought their Collie Andi, and we started shooting on the sands dunes past the Sky Harbor Airport. It was a blustery day on the ground, so the logical next step was an impromptu airplane ride! John from Beaver Air Tours gave us a fantastic trip around the Duluth Harbor and St. Louis River Basin in his de Havilland Beaver Seaplane. The air at altitude was smooth as silk, and the views were incredible. If you’re looking to spend an hour on an in-town getaway, then Beaver Air Tour is an excellent choice.
