Eric and Jenn’s Clyde Iron Works Wedding

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Bride and groom photo walking outside with rain reflecting off pavement.

From their first date at the Yard House to their memorable proposal during the 12 bars of Christmas pub crawl, Jenn and Eric have been through it all. Their wedding day included a gorgeous venue, first look photos at Enger Tower, and a MN and WI border battle. During some shenanigans in Canal Park early on in the day, a thunderstorm crept up and we were caught in a total downpour, which made for an interesting turn of events. Jenn and Eric made the best of it, though, by dancing in the puddles and refusing to let the rain have any effect on their special day. Soon, the clouds left and the sun was shining once again.

The ceremony was officiated by one of their good friends, which made the day even more special. Mary at Pure Event Planning & Design did wonders to keep the day running smoothly, and it was a pleasure to work alongside Jasper at Jasper Meddock Productions. Congratulations Jenn and Eric, and best of luck!

Thanks for the socks!

Jess and Jordan’s Two Harbors Destination Wedding

City: Two Harbors, MN Venue:

Bride and groom photo outside with green trees in the background.

Jordan and Jess met at Ohio Northern University nearly five years ago because of a mutual love for heavy metal music. Fittingly, for their three year anniversary, Jordan popped the question with a customized Vikings jersey and a beautiful ring right after one of their favorite bands at a hard rock concert. When these two aren’t saving lives in the ICU and the critical care portion of the pharmacy, they enjoy concerts, Vikings games, and being in each other’s company.

The Grand Superior Lodge in Two Harbors, MN, was a gorgeous venue for Jordan and Jess to say, “I do,” at. Their destination wedding was complete with Jordan’s father officiating the outdoor ceremony and a beautiful day weather-wise. Getting to be on the shores of Lake Superior celebrating love was the cherry on top.

Spencer and Amy’s High-Flying Engagement

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Engagement photos in a DeHavilland Beaver seaplane.

There’s nothing better than a spontaneous adventure with a bit of high-flying fun. Spencer and Amy drove up from the cities for engagement photos on Park Point. They brought their Collie Andi, and we started shooting on the sands dunes past the Sky Harbor Airport. It was a blustery day on the ground, so the logical next step was an impromptu airplane ride! John from Beaver Air Tours gave us a fantastic trip around the Duluth Harbor and St. Louis River Basin in his de Havilland Beaver Seaplane. The air at altitude was smooth as silk, and the views were incredible. If you’re looking to spend an hour on an in-town getaway, then Beaver Air Tour is an excellent choice.

Thank you, Spencer and Amy, for the impromptu adventure, and I can’t wait to see what your wedding day will bring.

Nick and Kelly’s St. John’s Wedding and Greysolon Reception

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Nick and Kelly first met in grade school and ignored each other for nearly a decade until the two exchanged numbers in highschool. Kelly firmly planted him in the friend-zone even though Nick had other plans. It didn’t take long for the friend-zone wall to come crumbing down- I mean who could resist Nick’s devilishly good looks and great personality?!

These two high-school sweethearts were engaged at the Newman Center Chapel in UMD where Nick carefully constructed an aisle of 400 candles. On her way to the chapel, Kelly almost turned around because she figured out what was about to happen. Instead, he walked her down the candle aisle and got down on one knee. She cried, said yes, and then they both noticed the carpet was on fire!

Nick and Kelly had a classic Catholic Mass at St. John’s Parish, the same school she teaches. Their reception at Greysolon Ballroom in downtown Duluth was filled with laughter and the kind of dancing that should be at every wedding. I also discovered that Nick and Moonwalk and Kelly’s father could do the Worm. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Congrats and all the best!

Janelle and Eric’s Coppertop Church Wedding

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Eric and Janelle met for the first time in college, but it wasn’t until around five years later that they began to notice each other on more than a friend level. On one fateful weekend, both Janelle and Eric were going to be in Vegas and since Janelle didn’t have a car, Eric offered to pick her up. This airport retrieval quickly turned into them spending the whole weekend together! After their Vegas escapade, Janelle returned to Arizona and Eric went back to Chicago. They braved a long distance relationship, where Eric would visit Janelle in Chicago every 2-4 weeks, before Eric decided to move to Arizona about a year later to be with Janelle. The rest is history!

This fun-loving, adventurous couple was a joy to be around, and the coppertop church was a beautiful venue for them to tie the knot in. With stops at Enger Tower, as well as the Canal in the mix, it was clear that the city of Duluth offered a gorgeous spring day for this happy couple to say “I do,” on.
