There is something immensely satisfying about smoking a Cuban cigar on the streets of Havana. It’s a forbidden fruit that few Americans have the opportunity to experience. Our politics may be radically different but if we can ally ourselves with once sworn enemies like Germany, Japan, and Vietnam then at least we can be friendly with our island neighbor. Our visit to Cuba is a step in the right direction. Hopefully, one day more Americans will be able to experience Cuba and see that we have more in common than politicians would lead us to believe.
