A wedding photographer is usually most comfortable behind the camera, but once in a while you might catch us in front of the lens. Every winter my wife Sara and I do a self-portrait. The photos make great Christmas gifts and it’s our way to visually remember each year. Here are two of my favorites.

The first was taken in Theodore Wirth Park near our Minneapolis home. The second was behind a freshly frosted lilac bush on Woodland Avenue in Duluth. My patient wife endured knee deep snow and -4 degrees while I set up the perfect shot. The intersection was busy with people going about their day but many took a few moments to honk and wave. I can only imagine what they were thinking.
