Erik and Hannah met in the genetics lab at NDSU. Every day he would wait for his future bride just to hold the door open for her. On the last day of class, he asked for her number, and they have been happily together since. When they first began dating, Erik shared his passion for nature and growing trees. He told her about a particular old-growth forest in Northern Minnesota called the Lost Forty. The way he said it gave Hannah a suspicion that he would one day propose there. Erik finally brought her to the Lost Forty, and while walking the trail, stopped between a huge white pine and red pine, and before she knew it he was on one knee with a ring in his hand!
Mike and Sara’s Gunflint Elopement
Mike and Sara skipped the over-the-top wedding fanfare and eloped in the middle of winter to Gunflint Lodge in Nothern, Minnesota. They went to middle school together but didn’t find love until many years later. For years the two were like ships passing in the night until that one day at a truck and tractor pull. Since that day they have been inseparable, and now it’s official. Congrats and may your marriage be full of many tractor pulls and surprise snow angels.

Brad and Miala Winter Engagement Photos
Brad & Miala met on Match and had many wonderful conversations until complete radio silence for nearly a month. Miala went offline but couldn’t stop thinking about “this amazing guy.” When she tried to find him again her account had been deactivated. She was determined to find him with a new account. After plenty of searching, they found each other once more. Brad immediately asked her on a date; sushi and martinis at Blackwater. At the end of the night, Brad asked to see her again, and she responded: “I will believe it when I hear from you again.” To Miala’s surprise, he texted her that night and the next day. The two have been together since.
BJ and Amanda Eloped
“We were playing pool together one night after BJ’s pool leagues and talking about our future. I looked away for a second, looked back and BJ was on one knee and started this amazing speech about how he feels about me and us as a couple. After a few tears and “Really?! Are you sure?” came out of my mouth (probably not the response he was looking for), I said yes. It was perfect. It was just the two of us living our normal lives, and it was a private moment that we have to look back on and smile about. Neither of us was looking for a serious relationship, but we found that our “weirds” match each other and the rest is history.”

Ben and Alison’s Surprise Proposal and Engagement Photos
Guys are the best and worst planners ever. Ben knew years ago that Alison was the one and it was only a matter of time until it was official with an engagement ring. On the other hand, he inquired less than 24 hours before proposing if it was possible to capture the moment on camera. After a flurry of covert texts and emails, it was settled and everyone was in position. Alison knew something was up and had her suspicions but still couldn’t hold back the tears when Ben got down on one knee. After the excitement and flood of emotions, we walked around Canal Park in Duluth, Minnesota for a few photos to celebrate the occasion. Ben summed it up best with the quote below:
“I knew since the day I met you that you were the one, my love for you is growing stronger every day and there was never a doubt in my mind that this day would come. Slightly surprised she said YES and signed up to deal with me forever and ever but I’ll take it 😁❤️
Je t’aime Alison!”
