The sun slowly broke over Rice Park in St. Paul and it was mostly quiet except for a few people starting their day. It was the perfect time to capture some special moments of Jay and Whitney under the sparkling lights of the Winter Carnival. Congrats to you two and I’m excited to spend more time with you guys at your summer wedding!
“I have to ask you something.” Erick got down on one knee and opened a box. “I have had this in my pocket all day. I have loved you for the past eight years and if you say yes I will love you for the next 80.” Jamie started crying and said “of course.” Erick and Jamie’s love story started at a college house party and the two recently tied the knot at Lakewood Memorial Chapel and danced the night away at Window on MN. Congratulations to Erick and Jamie and best wishes for the next 80 years!

The foundation for Andy and Joanna’s wedding day has been 175 years in the making. In 1839 Joanna’s great-great-great-great-great-grandfather built the historic Old Muskego Church that now sits on the grounds of St. Paul’s Luther Seminary. It was in this very same chapel that Andy and Joanna had their First Look on their wedding day. The two exchanged gifts— a pearl bracelet for Joanna and a watch for Andy. They also took time to share personal letters with each other. Their ceremony in The Chapel of the Incarnation at Luther was followed by a joyous celebration at the Lafayette Club on the shores of Lake Minnetonka where live music entertained guests well into the night.

Matt and Kate were asked to describe their big day in just three words and they selected: fun, awesome, and love. If there was an award for bridal party of the year it could go to Matt and Kate’s wedding party. Everyone had fun and clearly brought their A Game— you couldn’t ask for better people to share the day with. Next, Matt and Kate selected awesome and that would be the perfect description of an outdoor wedding at Minneapolis Event Center in the Historic Saint Anthony Main Building. Every detail was perfect from the table linens to the skyline view. And most importantly, they selected love. As Kate’s Mom walked her down the aisle I had a chance to see the look in Matt’s eyes and see how excited he was to begin their lives together as husband and wife. Like your wedding, may your life and marriage always be filled with fun, awesomeness, and love.

Nearly two years ago Jacob and Kate visited Haiti on a mission trip and fell in love with an orphan named Maki. After their second trip to visit Maki the blessing continued as they met another young boy named Nelson. There have been trials along the way, countless miles traveled, mountains of paperworks, and patience reserved only for saints but tonight Nelson and Maki will sleep in a bed that they can call their own surrounded by a family that loves them.
