It doesn’t matter if you’re a tourist or a Duluth native, there is something for everyone in Canal Park. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky and the breeze was rolling in off Lake Superior— a perfect Duluth day for an engagement shoot. From the first moments of shooting Jake and Beth, it was obvious how much they love each other— they simply light-up in each others presence. Jake and Beth even brought Miss Franny the Cocker Spaniel for our walk around the Aerial Lift Bridge and Park Point.

Congrats you two and I cannot wait for your wedding at Glensheen in a few months.

The best kept secret in Duluth is the Park Point side “far pier.” Canal Park could be packed with tourists and there might not be a single soul on the other side.

Every couple is asked to describe the most important part of their wedding day. For Amber it was “Marrying my best friend.” and Matt’s one word reply was “Surviving.” Most guys are thinking that exact thought somewhere in the back of their mind but usually end up saying what he thinks she wants to hear. Not Matt— he speaks his mind. Their adventure began as an office romance, he would stop over at the end of the day to flirt and “ask me out for a drink” as Amber puts it. “Finally, I said yes” and the rest you can probably guess.

Matt proposed with a diamond from his grandmother’s ring in the kitchen. It was on the same day they closed on their new home- perfect.

Cedric and Katelyn’s E-Session

This is a love story of a small town guy meeting a big city girl at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul. Both were in the engineering program and it took a few obvious hints from Katelyn to get Cedric’s attention. Before long he knew he had something special and it was obvious they were in love. Cedric proposed after a romantic dinner while playing All of Me by John Legend on the piano . . . . swoon. These two are getting married on the Fourth of July and I’m excited to share in their “fireworks.”

Minnesota gets plenty of credit for its ~~10,000~~ 11,842 lakes but not enough credit for its big blue sky.

Kevin and Jenn’s Engagement Photos

Spring has sprung and love is in the air. Shooting fantastic photos is almost too easy with Jenn’s infectious smile and Kevin by her side. This lovely couple is getting married later this August and I cannot wait for a repeat performance. I’m so excited for you two to begin your life together and am thrilled to be able to join in the festivities.

During their engagement session there were a few seconds when I saw a glimpse 50 years into the future. I was only able to fire off a single shot before the moment passed and I’m fairly certain that Kevin and Jenn were too busy being in love to notice.
