Scott and Christie’s Stormy Stout’s Island Wedding

City: Birchwood, WI Venue:

Stout’s Island on Red Cedar Lake was the perfect place for Scott and Christie’s summer weekend wedding. This beautiful spot is near their beloved family cabin on Long Lake, which has so many wonderful memories. Their celebration of love, surrounded by their friends and family, is one they will remember forever.

Guests were invited to stay for the weekend for some fun events and were ferried to the island while enjoying gorgeous views of the lake and the unique historical Stout’s Island Lodge. The weather was hot and humid, and storm clouds were moving in from the west, but spirits were high in anticipation of the upcoming nuptials. The bride wore her grandmother’s ring and was glowing with happiness. Their hand-written vows were sweet and genuine, and the first kiss brought tears of joy.

The reception was a fun and wet affair. The rain came down in sheets, but everyone had a blast singing karaoke and dancing barefoot in the muddy grass. The staff at the Lodge were fantastic, and they made the evening run smoothly, despite the crazy weather. The thunder, lightning, and even a felled tree didn’t stop the happy couple from having the time of their lives. It was truly an exciting and extraordinary wedding!

Thank you to Christie and Scott for having me there to photograph your big day. Congratulations!

Jessica and Mo’s Intimate Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Wedding

City: Minneapolis, MN Venue: ,

Weddings are always wonderful celebrations, and this beautiful event was no exception. The ceremony was held at the impressive Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church in Minneapolis, followed by some fun and a fabulous reception at Hotel 340 in Saint Paul. Jessica and Mo deserved a spectacular day, and that is exactly what they were blessed with.

Their classic and elegant wedding was filled with touches of whimsy and thoughtful moments. The bride was simply stunning wearing her mother’s pearl necklace, and her customized Chucks made everyone smile. I loved their “no-look” first look, where they exchanged wedding gifts of cuff-links and a beautiful bracelet. The wall between them added a fun twist to an old tradition, and the excitement of the moment was almost palpable.

The ceremony at Hennepin Avenue United Methodist Church was emotional and heartfelt, and many joyful tears flowed as the couple said: “I Do.” After a quick bar hop to The Local, the newly-weds made a stop at Caribou, the very place they had their first date. It was the perfect romantic moment alone before they were off to their intimate reception at Hotel 340.

I had a great time with Mo, Jessica, and their wonderful families and friends. Their big day was a celebration of love, the first of many more to come. Cheers to the happy couple!

Joshua and Lauren’s Elegant Greysolon Wedding Video

City: Duluth, MN

Duluth, MN Wedding Videographer Bryan Jonathan Weddings

This wonderful couple met while in the Mechanical Engineering program at Michigan Tech, where they had rooms in the dorm right next to each other. They slowly became good friends, progressed to best friends, and eventually started dating. After graduation, Josh and Lauren moved on together to another town in Michigan to work for the same company. What a great way to start on their adventure!

Josh’s proposal to Lauren was sweet and memorable. He surprised her while on a walk along Lake Michigan, asking for her hand in marriage just as the sun was setting. Lauren was overjoyed, and the couple then celebrated their engagement with Josh’s parents and a bottle of champagne.

Their elegant wedding at Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth, MN was the perfect celebration with family and friends. Gorgeous views of Lake Superior provided an amazing backdrop for their Christ-focused ceremony, and the sun seemed to be shining even brighter than usual. I really enjoyed capturing their big day on video, while the talented photographer Bailey Aro worked her magic.

Congratulations Josh and Lauren! Here’s to many more years of wonderful memories.

Duluth Wedding Photo Booth

City: Duluth, MN

Bryan Jonathan Weddings Photobooth in Duluth, MN.

If you are getting married in the Duluth/Superior area, adding a photo booth from Bryan Jonathan Weddings is the perfect way to liven up the reception while creating memories. There are endless creative possibilities with a photo booth, and your guests will have a blast playing with a wide assortment of props and accessories designed to bring out their wild side. Hilarity will ensue, and the photos captured are sure to bring laughter when remembering the big day.

I love seeing the wonderful and hysterical moments that come from the photo booth. Guests of all ages have fun playing with a multitude of masks, hats, and other zany props that are designed to bring out the goofball in everyone. A photobooth makes the event one to remember and is entertainment, and a party favor rolled into one easy package that can replace the traditional candy or keepsake.

One creative couple, who celebrated their wedding at Greysolon Ballroom in Duluth, put a new twist on the traditional guestbook by printing their photo booth pictures for guests to sign. This is a perfect compliment the wedding day photos, and every time they look at their guestbook they will have a laugh while remembering their spectacular celebration.

Arianne and Adam’s Seven Bridges Road Engagement

Seven Bridges Road Engagement Photos

Shooting at a location like Seven Bridges Road always makes me appreciate the story behind the couple that I am photographing. Adam and Arianne met at work when they started new jobs in July of 2013. While playing for the company-sponsored volleyball team, they learned they both rode the same motorcycle and owned the same pickup truck. Their first date was a bike ride in a hail storm. That was certainly a wild way to get to know each other!

The first time Adam proposed to Arianne, they were just hanging out on the couch talking. He asked if Arianne would marry him, but she wasn’t ready to say yes yet. After two years, he decided to plan the perfect proposal, which would happen while on a trip to Egypt. It would be his second attempt, and it was going to be as unique and romantic as possible.

Just in case she declined again, he decided to wait until the second to last day. They were strolling the beach along the Red Sea looking for sea shells, and Arianne was busy searching for the perfect treasure. Adam took the opportunity to prop his cell phone against a rock so he could record the big event. He slipped the ring inside a shell and placed it with a group of others. She almost threw it into the sea before she realized what was hiding inside the shell. He then swept her off her feet with his words of love and devotion, so she could not resist his charm any longer.

I had a fantastic time with these two during their engagement shoot, and they made the most out of the perfect Duluth day. Adam and I hopped on our cycles for a cruise up the iconic Seven Bridges Road, which runs along the picturesque Amity Creek in East Duluth. Arianne drove the truck instead of riding so their beloved Great Dane, Duke, could be a part of the adventure too!

After getting some great shots by the creek, we headed to beautiful Brighton Beach on the shore of Lake Superior. There is just something special in this spot, and it shows in the photos of this fantastic couple. The beautiful surroundings and great company made this one of my favorite shoots this year. I hope that next time we take a cruise Arianne will join us on the bikes!

Congratulations on your engagement Adam and Arianne. I can’t wait for the wedding!
