Tom and Elizabeth’s Engagement

These two loves birds are getting married in my hometown of Duluth, MN. Separated by a just a few years, Elizabeth and I went to the same high school and grew-up in the same neighborhood. Duluth is just small enough to have a bit of the small town charm that is perfect for a wedding while St. Paul is just big enough for urban style engagement photos. It’s the combination of these two elements that make me excited to shoot Tom and Elizabeth’s wedding.

When’s the last time you were on an old tire swing? For Jeff and Lia it was last week! A beautiful autumn sunset on Lake Minnetonka is all that’s needed to spark a little romance in playful hearts.

Ryan and Alyssa’s Wedding

While visiting colleges, Alyssa received a call from an unknown number and the guy on the other end claimed she had stood him up for a date. Alyssa couldn’t remember making a date and was very confused but humored him because he said he was a baseball player. Alyssa thought to herself “what if he really is a baseball player” and Alyssa’s mom who overheard the conversation thought he sounded cute. The prank calls continued throughout the week until Alyssa told Ryan aka “Bob” that she would never speak with him again unless she told him who he really was. Ryan and Alyssa have been together ever since that fateful summer day in August. Their wedding at The Refuge Golf Course in Oak Grove was everything one could hope for including a tiny green frog. It just so happens that during our engagement session we captured a one in a million ring shot with a little toad. Having the opportunity to recreate the same shot on their wedding day was just icing on the cake.

Melvin and Katy’s Wedding

It all started at the office when Katy first met Melvin while he was locked out of the building. The two have been together ever since that first week-long office fling. Melvin is a Texas gentlemen and a Cowboys fan, while Katy is a Yankee and loves her Vikings. The two have plenty of differences but they balance each other out. Melvin’s charming jokester personality blends perfectly with Katy’s sass, even if she doesn’t alway appreciate the humor. In any case, both of them like to party. There are wedding receptions with dancing and then there are dance party wedding receptions. Melvin hosted his own dance party at Mill City Museum with a live mic all night. It was half karaoke, half entertainment, and a perfect way to round out a wedding day. Here’s to the bride and groom and their fabulous guests who all know how to party like it’s 1999.

Jon and Lisa’s Wedding

City: Minneapolis, MN Venue:

Wedding Photography At Christ Presbyterian Church In Edina, MN - Bryan Jonathan Weddings

Jon and Lisa met online and it took over a month of emailing back and forth before Lisa made it entirely obvious that she was interested in being asked on a first date. Soon after, Jon proposed with a sonnet he had written especially for the occasion. He had Lisa read it aloud and at the end asked her the question he had been dying to ask for months. Her reply was “Wonderfully, happily, heart-stoppingly, perfectly— YES.” Dinner was not quite ready so the two danced by candle light to Sinatra in the kitchen.

Their wedding at Christ Presbyterian Church in Edina was a joyous celebration filled with love and laughter. Friends and family are one of the most important parts of Jon and Lisa’s life and they wanted a wedding that focused on those relationships and Christ while forgoing the pageantry and fluff. The church was filled with those who love Jon and Lisa and everyone would agree their wedding was a perfect representation of their love. Best of all, we had Chipotle for dinner and if you ask me it is one of the finest wedding meals I’ve ever had.

For Love. For Life. For Real. For Keeps.
