The leaves had already fallen off the trees and a cold front was sweeping over Minnesota but that didn’t stop Shannon and Michael’s fall engagement session at Dodge Nature Center. The happy couple are getting married next August and I am excited to celebrate the big day with them!
Nat and Tiff are Married!
A gorgeous bride, a handsome groom, and a late summer day are the perfect recipe for a stunning wedding. Nat and Tiff are both environmental sustainability professionals so they deliberately chose to celebrate their love with a eco-conscious wedding. Their outdoor ceremony and barn reception at Eko Backen featured many small details that could easily be overlooked. Guests were given reusable glasses with table assignments instead of disposable place cards, the utensils were 100% biodegradable, and catering was provided by Moral Omnivore. During the ceremony, officiated by Tiff’s father, they planted a tree to represent their new union and released native butterflies to commemorate loved ones lost. Love flourishes in the details, so here’s to all the small actions that make a difference in the world!

Travis and Amanda’s E-Session
Travis, a modern day gentleman, asked Amanda’s parents for their blessing before proposing. He planned to do it at the cabin where they first met more than five years ago but Plan A turned into Plan B and Plan B turned into Plan C. Plan C was a romantic dinner but Amanda thought it was just another Friday night and insisted on pizza rolls. So while waiting for the pizza rolls Travis proposed with his Great Grandma’s 100 year old ring. Their wedding will be next summer and Surly, the Black Lab, may even be their ring bearer. Surly provided comic relief during their engagement session and posed perfectly as if the shoot was all about him.
Erik and Kelli’s Engagement
A Viking fan marrying a Packer fan is going to make for tense Sunday afternoons and it looks like Erik will have bragging rights since the Pack shamed the Vikes last week. After putting their rivalry aside for the evening, Erik donned his cowboy hat and Kelli her cowgirl boots for a romantic sunset on the banks of the Mississippi at Lions Levee Park in St. Paul.
