Dave and Bridgette’s Wedding

City: Saint Paul, MN Venue:

Wedding Photography at Germanic American Institute in St Paul, MN.

Dave and Bridgett proudly displayed their heritage at Germanic-American Institute in St. Paul, MN proving that you don’t have to travel far to have a German wedding. Their ceremony was complete with traditional bridesmaid dresses, pretzels, brats, snuff, and beer— lots of beer. The highlight of the day was Baumstamm Sägen, a Bavarian log sawing ceremony that symbolizes all that Dave and Bridgette can accomplish together by giving and taking as a newly married couple. Any log can be cut alone but the journey is much sweeter with a helping companion at your side. The log itself represents the season of a marriage. With every passing year a tree will add rings to it’s trunk and becomes stronger. In years of plenty the rings will be large while times of drought produce smaller rings. Regardless of the size, the tree continues to growing just like Dave and Bridgette’s marriage.

Let’s all raise our glasses one last time to the Bride and Groom. Prost!
