Mike and Cassie’s Winter Garden Wedding at Glensheen

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

There’s nothing quite like an evening at the Historic Gleensheen Estate, it’s the perfect intimate wedding venue on the shores of Lake Superior. Before the ceremony, Cassie and Mike had their guests write their well-wishes and marriage advice on beach glass. The glass was then collected in a vase to continually remind them of all the love and support they’ve experienced along the way. It was a unique take on the traditional sand ceremony and will serve them for many years. Congratulations and remember to “Be Kind,” “Hope,” “Love,” Communicate,” and finally, “Live long and prosper!”

S’mores on Lake Superior and Tisher Creek is the perfect way to end a perfect day.

Jon and Kelli’s Glensheen Tent Wedding

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

What began as a fateful first date at Eat Street Cafe in Minneapolis continued at Glensheen Mansion in Duluth and will endure for many years to come. Jon and Kelli exchanged vows one day short of Jon’s parents’ wedding anniversary. I’m confident they could share a few marriage pointers.

The day was hot and smokey. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, but Canadian wildfire haze obscured the horizon over Lake Superior. That is until moments before the ceremony when the wind shifted, and the fresh air revealed blue sky. The nuptials overlooking Lake Superior and Tischer Creek was short and sweet, and everyone was relieved for the breeze.

A family-style dinner catered by Duluth Grill was served. And then for some inexplicable reason an inflatable shark appeared, apparently it’s a bridal party tradition with Jon’s family for sharks to join the festivities. Either way I’m all for the traditional traditions and the not so traditional tradition.

Jon and Kelli, thank you so much for having us at your wedding and may you two bring each other much joy and happiness.

Eric and Sara’s Glensheen Engagement

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Photo of the engaged couple jumping into Lake Superior together.

Eric and Sara met online and after a few dates in Hartley Park, they knew they were the ones for each other. Because of their park rendezvous while they were dating, they decided on Hartley Park as the location for the wedding day. Perfect.

For their engagement session, we headed to Glensheen Historic Estate where they enjoyed the sunny day on beautiful lakeshore property, ate S’mores and took a quick hop in Lake Superior.

Congratulations Eric and Sara! Thanks for letting me be a part of the day, and a special thanks to Glensheen Historic Estate for opening up their beautiful property to us for the session.

Beth and Jake’s Duluth Wedding

City: Duluth, MN Venue:

Glensheen Historical Estate Wedding Duluth MN

Beth and Jake met by chance on a night out in downtown Minneapolis. When they saw each other again at a hockey tournament a few months later they decided to meet for dinner and have been in each other’s lives ever since.

They were on vacation in Mexico when Jake proposed. It was their first night on the beach and Beth was thrilled when he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The beautiful tanzanite ring that Jake offered her he bought years before while they were at Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. He knew even then that someday Beth would be his wife.

The couple knew right away when and where the ceremony would take place. In memory of their late fathers, July 25th at Glensheen Mansion were the day and venue that would honor their memories best. What a beautiful way to include those who could only attend in spirit.

The couple enjoyed beautiful weather in an idyllic setting near Lake Superior during their special day. They celebrated not only their union but also the love and support they had from all their family and friends. Thank you for having me be a part of your celebration.
