Shannon and Michael’s Wedding

They noticed each other at work but didn’t really get to meet before Shannon moved away. Two months later she came back and Michael jumped at the opportunity to ask her to a New Year’s Eve party. There must have been some magic in the air that night because they’ve been together ever since.

One day, after a long lunch at one of their favorite restaurants, they took a walk along Hiawatha Falls and came to a grassy spot. Michael thought they should sit down for a bit and even offered his sandals for Shannon to sit on. After several quiet minutes he reached into his bag and pulled out the ring. Shannon was so surprised and excited that she made him ask again just to be sure she had said “Yes”!

The morning of the big day was clear and full of sunny blue skies. There were many perfect moments to capture on the wooded and sunlit paths at Minnetonka Orchards. The rustic and romantic details, including the hand-written vows, were beautiful and well thought out. The bridal party and guests were treated to amazing weather, hay rides, and a day full of love and laughter. The reception tent was a spectacular setting for dinner and dancing, and this amazing couple had a great time surrounded by their friends and family. Congratulations!

Jay and Whitney’s Semple Mansion Wedding

They met at an office holiday party in 2013 after Jay had arranged an introduction from a friend. By the end of the night they had a dinner-date planned that started with Jay’s home-cooking and ended with a moonlight stroll along a frozen river. A year later later they were engaged when he proposed on the shore of Lake Calhoun.

Whitney took great care in planning their romantic, vintage-inspired nuptials. That careful thought shined through in every detail. The Grand Palladian Ballroom was elegantly decorated and so was the wedding party, right down to the cuff links made from real coins. The guests enjoyed the stylish surroundings and danced the night away to the music of Hookers $ Blow, the best live band ever!

It was a spectacular day of fun at the Semple Mansion with their family and friends. Cheers to the happy couple! I was honored to be a part of your special day.

Semple Mansion Grand Palladian Ballroom Wedding

Whitney’s dress, bouquet, and accessories shone as brightly as the memorial candle against the elegant aged wood banister of the Grand Staircase.

The groomsmen folded their pocket squares in the billiard room and got ready in style.

Nathan and Priya are Engaged!

Nathan and Priya met for the first time in their sophomore year of college. He had to ask her out more than a few times before she agreed to go to dinner, but the wait was worth it because they have been together ever since! Who knew that Thai food could be that good?

Nathan proposed a year and a half later while in Iowa visiting family. They were going to snuggle up before bed with the same movie that they watched after that great Thai food on their first date. When Priya opened the DVD case she got a huge surprise, finding a ring instead of a movie! She said “Yes!” to that lovely surprise.

We had a ton of fun with their engagement session. The warehouse district in Northeast Minneapolis some fantastic murals and the Stone Arch Bridge near Saint Anthony Falls provided a beautiful backdrop to capture some great shots of this young couple in love. They just enjoy being together and that love is apparent in every photo. Congratulations! I am looking forward to being there for the big day.

Jesse and Sarah are engaged! Their session at Union Depot and Black Bear Crossing in St. Paul was fun and relaxed, especially when their lab Sydney joined them for some pics. They had eyes only for each other and their happiness was contagious. Congratulations and I am excited for the Lakeville wedding and A’Bule reception in the spring!

Lawrence and Jamie’s Engagement Photos

August 27, 2015City: Minneapolis, MN Venue: Minnehaha Parkway

At first these two didn’t always see eye to eye. When they met Lawrence was Jamie’s boss and the relationship was strictly business. It was at Jamie’s going away party on her last day with the company that they got to really talk and they fell for each other then and there.

He asked her to marry him in Sonoma, CA while Jamie was there on business. Lawrence came to visit for the long Memorial Day weekend and kept his intentions hidden until the night before he left to come home. He surprised Jamie by getting down on one knee in the town square and she said “Yes”!

The photos really show how much in love they are. I am excited to celebrate the big day with them in October!
